Bernard Rowan

Bernard Rowan has been sculpting the human form from the live model for more than 30 years. Each of his figure sculptures represents his intention to combine an impressionistic and expressionistic quality with a visually ‘true’ description of a human being. Usually sculpted in stoneware clay within a single working session, his pieces attempt to achieve a Zen-like depiction of a moment, which is also a timeless description of a human reality.

His work has been exhibited in the New York City area and has also been sold to private collectors.
